Unfortunately, it was closed when I visited (during the New Year holiday period). But when I got up to leave on New Years Eve for Tokyo, it was snowing in Matsumoto. Managed to get down to the castle before I had to catch the train & got some shots.

Aqueles que freqüentam o meu flickr há algum tempo devem estar cansados das fotos deste edifício. Peço desculpas, mas eu sempre gosto de voltar a fotografá-lo em diferentes horários e revendo enquadramentos anteriores. Estas duas fotos, feitas agora, em fevereiro de 2010, alcançaram o resultado que há anos eu tento buscar. Não que eu pare de fotografá-lo, mas agora vou atrás de outros prédios que merecem ser fotografados novamente.

Those that have been following my flickr photostream for some time are probably tired of the repeating photographs of this building. I am sorry for that, but I always enjoy to come back to it at different times of the day and reevaluating previous framings. These two photographs, taken now in February 2010, have finally achieved the result that I've been seeeking for the last couple of years. They complement the previous set, yet speak on their own. I won't stop shooting this building, but from now on I'll concentrate on others that are in need of being photographed again.

The monastery is Catalonia's most important religious retreat and groups of young people from Barcelona and all over Catalonia make overnight hikes at least once in their lives to watch the sunrise from the heights of Montserrat. Virgin of Montserrat (the black virgin), is Catalonia's favourite saint, and is located in the sanctuary of the Mare de Deu de Montserrat, next to the Benedictine monastery nestling in the towers and crags of the mountain. The Escolania, Montserrat’s Boys’ Choir, is one of the oldest in Europe, and performs during religious ceremonies and communal prayers in the basilica."

This old house on Old Route 35 and Higby Road has caught my eye each time I was in the neighborhood. The sky cleared and the sun came out for this shot. 20 minutes later it was overcast again.

5x HDR, Lens Tilt correction, keystone correction, sharpened and cropped.
